Hi there! I'm Katie Stasiak…soon to be Katie McCaw. I'm a St. Louis Portrait Photographer and First Grade Teacher. My blog is where I showcase my photography, family and friends, crafts, and everything else in my life!

A Rainbow and A Party

On Saturday, I woke up to this rainbow. It stretched from one end to the other! What was at the other side? A huge storm. It didn’t get in the way of a golf tournament and a 30th birthday party with my family!

Happy 30th Birthday to the birthday cousins!

I tried to keep my camera away for the majority of the party. I think I did a good job too. Here are a couple from the day.

My Aunt Mell took out a bunch of old pictures and passed them around. They were so fun to look at. I liked seeing everyone’s reaction to them!!!

Hubbard Wedding Slide Show

I wanted to add a little video I made from a wedding I did back in March. I like this slide show so much, sometimes I catch myself watching it just for fun. With over 4,600 hits on youtube, I think a lot of people do the same thing. I love the song, the images, and the people who got married!

Balloon Glow and Race!

Shawn and I headed to the balloon glow on Friday. We left the house around 6:30 thinking it would be enough time to be there for about an hour, knowing that it was over at 9. Well, due to an accident, everyone getting into Forest Park was at a complete stop for at least an hour and half. We weren’t moving anywhere.

We were about a mile and a half from the park and Shawn and I noticed a lady get out of her car and hop on crutches to make her way to the balloon glow. I’m sure by the time we got in the park, the lady was already on her way back home.

The minute we stepped on the grass for the balloon glow was the same minute they started cleaning up. Seriously. I only took one picture and it was over. We still had fun watching them take down the balloons. They get them down so quickly!

The next day we got a call from our friend Megan and she wanted to see the actual race. It was a beautiful day so we couldn’t say no.

There were even sky divers! Shawn has been wanting to sky dive again, and this didn’t help his urge to fly. I think once is plenty. Don’t you?

What’s Ahead!

I realized today that it’s almost fall. Some of the trees are changing and the grocery store has pumpkins and spice out. It really hit me when the condo association put the bucket of salt out… just in case. Wow, so much for summer! So now I will embrace all the fun stuff that goes with fall. I will put my “Sun and Summer” candle away and go get something that reminds me of Halloween and Thanksgiving. If you don’t know me, I get really festive!

What am I most excited about? I’ve got some great photography sessions in place. Great sessions with great people will fill this blog! I couldn’t be more excited!!!

Until then, just one more summer picture. Here is Scarlett with sand on her face and the sun on her back!

I’ve been super busy on something that I’m so excited about! I have both a new blog and a new website!

My photography started out as a hobby for me but has lately turned into something much more. I created my website as a way to showcase my work and inform others about what kind of photographer I am. I then realized that my blog just wasn’t everything I wanted it to be either. I couldn’t make my images as big as I wanted, and I was limited with the amount of space I could take up on the web.

I feel that my website and my blog will be a place where I can share what I have been doing. So many people have visited my old blog and I hope they will continue to do so! Please, leave comments for me! I get so many people telling me they love my work and they are a regular blog reader. I never would have known that if they didn’t tell me! I love comments!!!

I really want to take the time to thank these two really special people who helped me with my new websites!
