I get really into holidays.  If I had more time on my hands (I’m typing this after a long day of school, conferences, and everything else in between) I’d be making all kinds of festive things.  If you are into the holidays, or really like to try out new recipes, or just enjoy entertaining, here is a website for you.   I’ve been wanting to make this drink for a long time!  I think on Thursday I might serve these (orange juice of course) for my kids.  We are having a “pumpkin day” to celebrate the season, conferences being complete, and a day off on Friday!

Shawn and some friends of ours have been playing on a kickball team every Sunday.  We play at Tower Grove park where there is a HUGE league, I think there is something like ten teams and ten divisions.  They really had to talk me into signing up but I’m so glad I did.  I’ve really gotten into it the past few weeks and our team has gotten a lot better!  Here is Shawn and I the other week when it was freeeezing out.

Two weeks ago a ladybug landed on me and I joked that it was going to give us good luck.  Well it did for the day and our team beat one of the best teams in our division.  Last week I was joking about how we needed a lady bug to land on one of us again…and what do you  know…. one did!!!!  We haven’t lost a game since the ladybug.  (I knocked on wood before typing that.)  We hope to make the playoffs!

I’m really bad with surprises.  I try my best but then I get really excited and just have to let it out.  This year was different though…I did my best to keep it a secret.  I really tried to trick him.  I guess he knows me way too well because he laughed when he opened his birthday present and said, “I know you really tried to keep it a secret.  You’re just way too easy to read”.

Shawn has been carrying my hot pink Zune into the gym every time he goes. ( He has to hide it so people don’t see it!)

He’s been wanting his own for a really long time.  He deserved it. 

Shawn was sick on his birthday so he had the time to upload all kinds of songs to it.

I did surprise him with the engraving.  It says his name and then says, iLove you.

I had to explain the iLove thing to him, he thought I made a typo…

Speaking of Apple things, did anyone happen to see the new line of iMacs?!  Too bad I had my accident or I’d be typing on my new 27 inch computer.  One day soon I guess…

Oh, and I’m really not advertising for Apple…in fact, I think the new Windows came out today too!

Today’s Post:

Adopt a dog.  I’ve said it before, I love Scarlett and her story.  Of course pound dogs aren’t the easiest and they can be a lot of work, but adopting a pet is just so rewarding.  I went to the humane society the other day, and left SO sad (why do I continue to do this?!).  There are so many dogs there!  Some are from puppy mills, but there were so many family dogs there too.   There were puppies, both purebred and mixed, middle aged dogs without the puppy energy, and old dogs just wanting a lap to call their own.  I left wanting to take them all.  No matter what kind of dog you are getting, how old you want them to be, ADOPT.  Whatever you are looking for is out there if you just look.  That’s all for today.
